Costs

Part of the branch's mission statement is to make the sport accessible. Doing this means keeping the cost of the sport as low as possible, and we don't operate for profit. We do, however, still need to keep a healthy income in order to support the activities of the branch. This includes diver training, the maintenance of the equipment and boats, swimming pool hire and the upkeep/rent of the clubhouse.
Annual Subscription Fees
All of the above factors are taken into consideration when setting the level of our annual subscription fees. We believe that we are very competitive compared to other branches and training organisations.

Additional Costs
In addition to the annual subscription fees there are other costs which members may incur:
Pool Fees
We hire the swimming pool at the Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre in Leamington Spa for an hour each week, dividing it up into a training area, a stamina/fitness lane, and a casual swimmers lane. For each member who takes advantage of this the cost is £3, collected at the end of each session by a tasked club member (not the leisure centre).
If you are receiving training in the pool from one of our instructors, the pool fee doesn't apply.
Equipment Hire
For diver training in the swimming pool, equipment hire typically costs £3 per session. Equipment can also be hired for open water training and dive trips. Prices vary depending on fresh/sea water use, equipment required and hire period. We also have snorkelling equipment available. Please contact our Equipment Officer for further details.
Air Fills
For members who want to get their own air cylinders filled at the club, we charge £2 per cylinder (50p per pony cylinder). Please contact our Equipment Officer for further details.
Miscellaneous
Scuba diving is not a cheap sport: there are other costs which you may incur. As you progress through your training, you may want to purchase your own equipment (e.g. a dry-suit or a diving computer) and additional training materials, go on trips, attend social events and skills development courses.
